  The Jensen Beach (Florida) Pineapple Festival was a sweet date for Doolan Amusements and Alutok Rides. Peter R. and Stephen Kotula own and operate Alutok Rides and have a family history in the business.

  The outdoor amusement industry is mourning the passing of company patriarch Gerald Wisdom of Wisdom Industries, Ltd.

  Ready to go and see what is happening in the industry? It is that time of year to pack the bags and visit the various trade shows. A calendar lists some of the upcoming events.

  Manufacturer's Showcase features a new venture for Sellner Manufacturing; an Indiana company that specializes in hard-to-find lighting, Interlight; and the way to meet great popcorn demand from Gold Medal Products.

  Travel Out and About to the Deggeller Attractions' midway and meet some of the people with the show and view some of the rides and attractions they are setting up.

  Pennsylvania-based S&S Amusements, family owned and operated, partners with events in their home state.

  The Concessions section offers a profile of carnival supplier Allentown Toys, a company that has brought thousands of smiles to the faces of as many fair and festival attendees, with their comprehensive line of plush toys, novelties and concession supplies.

  Also in the Concessions section is the story of Mr. Peanut, Don Skillman, a veteran concessionaire who has brought his tasty roasted peanuts, prepared in his antique roasters, to fairs and festivals for well over 50 years.

  Do You Remember covers the Spillman Engineering Corporation's Over the Jumps. The company was the successor to the Herschell-Spillman Company in New York.

  Do you know the difference between a carousel and a Merry-Go-Round? Brian Loranger, owner of Carousels USA, explains in a detailed story about his company.

  As the season winds down, there are still a few dates, primarily in the South, for carnivals still out On the Road in November.

  Although they could not clone themselves, Deggeller Attractions played two dates in North Carolina - the fair in Greensboro and the Cabarrus County Fair in Concord, the latter with some assistance from Powers Great American Midways.

  The History of Train Shows continues with a profile of the Hennies Bros. Shows, a carnival that criss-crossed the country by rail.

  Nighttime is certainly a magical time on any midway. Photos of various pieces decked out with their lighting packages cast a spell on everyone.
