In the December 2007 issue:
- Reithoffer Shows set up a magical midway at the Great Frederick Fair in Maryland, a midway that included the unusual Huss Tornado.
- The History of Train Shows covers the World of Mirth, which presented “The largest midway on Earth,” in the early 1950s. The train show occasionally used truck transport to save on sometimes excessive rail charges.
- The owners of Michigan-based Elliott’s Amusements have a background in the industry and have worked hard to build a solid route in that state for their 20+-ride show.
- Do you remember the Super Sizzler? This ride from Wisdom Industries promised a spectacular ride with “dashing good looks.”
- January 13-17 are the dates set for the AIMS Safety Seminar in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- The late John Tillery was an integral part of the management team for a number of carnivals including the new Century 21 Shows, the old Century 21 Shows, and Jerry Murphy’s Murphy Brothers Exposition.
- Two units of Myers International joined together in Tennessee for the Henderson County Fair. The show’s 1001 Nachts features some new artwork.
- Route Snapshots takes a look at Earl’s Rides at the Athens County Fair in Wisconsin.
- Down Memory Lane remembers the colorful trailers that were transported by rail for the James E. Strates Shows.
- Manufacturer’s Showcase features a new alignment for Dartron Industries and Larson International. Sellner Manufacturing had an open house where a new Tilt-A-Whirl got its test run and Gold Medal Products is featuring a new portioned-cheese warmer for nachos.
- North American Midways Entertainment (N.A.M.E.) brought out its big guns for the Eastern States Exposition (the Big E) in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
- The Pack Your Bags section provides a list of a number of state and industry-related meetings, trade shows, and events
- The Now Booking for 2008 section provides the opportunity to check out the carnivals and concessions that may be available for booking your event.
